Crisis Response

SACAC Counselling provides several levels of assistance in the event of a a critical incident that may have an impact on an organisation or educational communities.

Some of the issues that the team has dealt with in the past include:

  • Layoffs
  • Natural Disasters
  • Physical or sexual assault
  • Illness or death of a family member
  • Suicide

The team members providing these services are experienced and specifically trained so that the person in crisis receives timely and skilled assistance in coping with the situation before further physical or emotional deterioration occurs.

Services include:

  • Consultation with organisational leadership
  • Face-to-face counselling (individual and group)
  • Structured telephonic counselling
  • On-site support
  • Staff training
  • Provision of expert references for legal and other needs
