Laura originally trained as an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with Merit from the University of Oxford and is now also a BABCP (British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies) CBT Therapist. Laura is also registered and accredited with BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy).
Laura has over 10 years of experience providing psychological therapy. She works with adolescents and adults with a wide range of psychological difficulties and specializes in treating depression and anxiety disorders, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Phobias, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Health Anxiety.
The researched-based therapeutic approaches that Laura uses to support her clients include Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Solution-Focussed, Motivational Interviewing(MI), and Cognitive-behavioural (CBT). Laura helps design an individualized treatment plan based on the client’s therapy goals, their preferences, limitations on session numbers, using evidence-base modalities for treating the difficulties that the client would like to work on.
Laura was a Counsellor with SACAC Counselling while living in Singapore with her husband and daughter in 2016. Here she worked with a diverse range of age groups as well as issues. She also represented SACAC Counselling at an educational institution along with seeing clients in the practice. Laura returned to live in the UK in 2018 with her family where she has since worked in private practice and for the UK’s leading private mental health hospital ‘The Priory’.
