Saveria has a Post Graduate in Counselling from the UK and a Masters in organizational change and behaviour from France. She grew up as a third-culture child in the USA, lived in France and the UK, and has been living in Singapore for the past four years.
Saveria works with stress, anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma (accidents, rape, abuse), grief and loss, identity issues, relationships, parenthood and work-related challenges.
She helps clients understand themselves better, develop skills to improve personal and professional relationships. She uncovers ways to cope with stress and anxiety, improve communication skills, break self-destructive patterns, and increase life-purpose. She helps find new perspectives and develop new ways of thinking. She strives to provide a confidential and collaborative space to become more self-reflective and understand the changes that are needed.
Her work is based on interdisciplinary modalities (CBT, Psychodynamic, Neuroscience, Jungian, Gestalt, Exposure and Play therapy).
Prior to joining SACAC Counselling, she was the deputy head of the counselling centre at a leading liberal arts college in Asia where she worked with clients across different cultures. She has experience in various clinical settings: emergency psychological units, psychiatric assessment centres, educational institutions and art therapy communities. She has worked with different age groups and across multicultural ethnicities to understand how one’s culture and the context we live in can impact one’s life. In addition to her clinical experience, she has worked in the corporate sector for ten years where she was a consultant on stress management, career transitions, and burn-out.
She is a senior accredited member of the British Association for Psychotherapists and Counsellors (BACP) and is a collaborative artist with ArtTherapy4All which raises awareness about the use of the art in healing.
