Veronica is an experienced clinician working with children, young people, families and adults for over 10 years. She prioritizes understanding each client’s context, strengths, support and current difficulties in order to work together to achieve their therapy goals. Veronica has worked in Australia, Hong Kong, Shanghai and now Singapore, where she lives with her three young children.
Veronica has worked with children, teenagers and young adults in a variety of settings, including multidisciplinary health clinics, government and non-government organizations, primary and secondary schools. She has experience in treating a wide range of mental health and school-based issues, such as anxiety, selective mutism, obsessive compulsive disorders, depression, learning difficulties, emotional regulation, social skills difficulties, oppositional and challenging behaviour and low self-esteem. Veronica is experienced in working with families who are in the process of, or who are experiencing difficulties due to family separation or divorce. Veronica has worked with individuals from various cultures and backgrounds with sensitivity and utilizes a client-centred systemic approach. She is able to consult with adults facing difficulties such as addiction, crisis, mental health concerns, grief and loss, stress and adjustment difficulties. Veronica aims to provide a safe, non-judgmental experience by adopting a collaborative approach to helping clients achieve their personal, career and therapeutic goals.
Veronica is formulaic in her application of a range of approaches such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systemic Family and creative therapy techniques as indicated. When working with children and adolescents, Veronica emphasis on the importance of working collaboratively with parents and teachers to effectively support her clients.
Veronica is experienced in delivering a variety of community, parenting and professional seminars for educators or health professionals on topics such as parenting after family separation, developing a functional attachment with adopted or looked after children, mental health in schools and the community, psychosocial development and social skills training.
