Vivian teaches, mentors and provides challenge and support for students in all content areas, from kindergarten through high school/International Baccalaureate.

After working for thirty years in the United States, Vivian worked in Singapore as a senior academic, teaching critical thinking to first-year students at Republic Polytechnic. She taught a class for school administrators offered through MOE. This course gave an opportunity for school administrators to look carefully at best practices and current research in education. These experiences, along with raising four of her own children, have provided her with insights into both educational systems. She is fully aware of what kinds of challenges students are faced with within both cultures.

Throughout her career, Vivian has been drawn towards supporting and understanding students with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia and the larger family of language/literacy disorders called Aphasia. Using assessment data, observations from parents and teachers, along with the expert insights of colleagues, she is able to design specific interventions to meet the individual needs of each student.

Often throughout her career, Vivian has had parents and colleagues bring her students who, for a variety of reasons, have given up on themselves as learners. Finding ways to support these students and help them take their next steps, are challenges that energize her.

Throughout all of Vivian's work, she has always remained committed to finding and using methods for helping each individual student meet and exceed academic goals. Along with meeting academic goals, she aims to cultivate within her students a love of learning and help them gain confidence in themselves.
